This creates problems for artists as well as for artists&#8217; organizations, cultural associations and institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the seminar, we examine why it is so and ask the question whether it could be in a different way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peo Hansen&nbsp;is Professor of Political Science at Link\u00f6ping University and Research Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. He is also a&nbsp;proponent of the modern monetary theory, MMT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What is money, really?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every societal problem has a price tag. Therefore, the question is often asked in the public conversation how we should &#8220;get the money&#8221; to finance healthcare, school, culture, defense or climate change, etc. However, the question is wrongly posed and is due to an unfortunate misunderstanding of what money actually is. The Swedish state cannot run out of the Swedish krona. On the other hand, Sweden may run out of what the money is supposed to pay for, such as artists and cultural workers, teachers, nurses and engineers, etc. Herein lies the real lack of resources and the great societal challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also participating is Johan \u00d6berg with different angles on Swedish and French cultural policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the meal there will be a concert<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stefan Sundstr\u00f6m<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both coffee and cinnamon rolls and food are served. He conducts research on European integration, with an emphasis on issues of migration, economics and geopolitics.
