En kvartett med starka personligheter som v\u00e4nder ut och in p\u00e5 sig sj\u00e4lva, varandra och musiken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Signe Emmeluth<\/strong><br class=\"\">Signe Emmeluth&nbsp;is a Danish saxophone player, composer and improviser currently based in Oslo. She graduated from the NTNU Jazz Department, Trondheim in 2017.&nbsp;<br class=\"\">In recent years, Signe has marked herself as a growing voice on the scene for improvised music and she has become an important part of the music environment in Scandinavia through her&nbsp;playing and composing for her own band Emmeluth\u2019s Amoeba as well as when playing solo.&nbsp;<br class=\"\">She\u2019s been collaborating with Mats Gustafsson, Kresten Osgood and Paal Nilssen-Love among others and is part of Gard Nilssen\u2019s Supersonic Orchestra and is seen in different versions of&nbsp;Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.<br class=\"\">With a sharp and unique tone her playing is easily recognized.&nbsp;<br class=\"\">Melodies with rapidly changing octaves and a shift between the naive and playful to brutal primal screams are some of what makes up Signe Emmeluth\u2019s vocabulary.<br class=\"\">She received the prestigious JazZtipendiat 20\/21 and premiered the work Physicality in\/emotion for Trondheim Jazz Orchestra at Moldejazz 2021. In 2021 she was given the price \u201cDe Unges&nbsp;Lindeman\u201d by Maja S.K. Ratkje. In 2022 she premiered her commission work Banshee at Vossa Jazz. In 2024 she will premiere her newest piece for larger ensemble ALT at Borealis &#8211; en festival&nbsp;for eksperimentell musikk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NINA DE HENEY<\/strong><br class=\"\">Born in 1962, Nina grew up in Switzerland. She studied with Miroslav Vitous at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston from 1981 to 1983. Nina moved to Sweden in 1983, where she&nbsp;again studied from 1988 to 1993 at the G\u00f6teborg Conservatory of Music, where she also achieved a Soloist Diploma 2004 to 2006.<br class=\"\">She started doing solo performances in 1992, often working with dancers and in 2008 she founded the festival Dance &#8216;n&#8217; Bass alongside dancer and choreographer Anna Westberg. Her three solo&nbsp;albums Archipelago, 2 and Three have all been met with critical acclaim and she has, on several occasions, been nominated for the Swedish Jazz Celebration and received the 2012 Jazz&nbsp;Musician of the Year Award. In addition to this she has been awarded funds from the Swedish Arts Grant on several occasions. Nina has been working in the jazz and improvisation scene in&nbsp;Sweden for many years with a number of groups and is currently working &nbsp;in duo with &nbsp;pianist Lisa Ull\u00e9n and in trio with &nbsp;Karin Johansson, piano, and Henrik Wartel, drums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kresten Osgood&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kresten Osgood is one of these people who at the same time defy and totally own categories. An extraordinary drummer and improviser who with the fullest respect to tradition, challenges it at&nbsp;any given moment of his creative endeavors. He has about a 100 albums to his credit, toured practically everywhere, has been performing and\/or recording with legends like Roscoe Mitchell, Paul&nbsp;Bley, Lee Scratch Perry, William Parker, Masabumi Kikuchi, Derek Bailey, Wadada Leo Smith, Jason Moran, Michael Blake, Oliver Lake, Kurt Rosenwinkel, John Tchicai, Tim Berne, Justin Vernon,&nbsp;Peter Br\u00f6tzman, Joshua Redman, Eugene Chadbourne, Billy Preston, Alan Silva, Brad Mehldau, Mats Gustafsson, Bennie Maupin, The National, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Sam Rivers, Henry Grimes, Dr.&nbsp;Yusef Lateef, Warren Smith, and many many others.&nbsp;<br class=\"\">But even that doesn&#8217;t really cover the full spectrum of what he has been up to in his career. A successful rapper, composer, pianist, vocalist, saxophonist and trumpeter, a true multi-instrumentalist,&nbsp;a powerful organizer being an extremely important driving force in lifting and pushing the music life in Copenhagen forward, entertainer with his own shows in TV and radio, receiver of numerous&nbsp;awards and honors, A very sharp kaleidoscope man, regardless of the context always realizing his fullest potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mathias Landaeus<\/strong><br class=\"\">Notoriously&nbsp;playful pianist and composer Mathias Land\u00e6us has released over twenty&nbsp;albums as a leader on labels like&nbsp;Moserobie, Clean Feed, Prophone, Amigo&nbsp;and others. Originally from Lund, he lived in New York in the 1990&#8217;s,&nbsp;then&nbsp;moved to Stockholm where he became an important figure on the jazz&nbsp;scene in the late 90&#8217;s. In addition to his&nbsp;inspiring work as a composer&nbsp;and musician, he has had a crucial role in building community by&nbsp;starting live scenes like&nbsp;the influential Glenn Miller Caf\u00e9 in&nbsp;Stockholm, and the ongoing club Underground in southern Sweden, which he&nbsp;has&nbsp;been curating since 2010. Recently he has initiated the musicians\u2019&nbsp;network \u201dJazz for Climate Justice\u201d. His lyrical touch&nbsp;and original&nbsp;quirky style has earned him a reputation as a world class jazz pianist&nbsp;and improviser.
