Piano trio MUSICMUSICMUSIC, fronted by Fabian Kallerdahl, is one of Gothenburg’s most classic and beloved jazz bands. It’s now 20 years since they made their debut and they’re celebrating by looking ahead and releasing their 13th album, Just A Gigolo! This trio is a bundle of energy, joy and whimsy, every concert is unique and during their long career they have captivated audiences at clubs and festivals in Paris, London, New York, Vancouver, Mexico City, Johannesburg, Shanghai, Tokyo, Bangkok and more. But they’re at their best on home soil, don’t miss it! To celebrate the evening, they’ve invited four musicians from the vibrant jazz scene in Taipei, Taiwan, with whom they’ve collaborated for several years. A unique evening of world-class jazz in both a trio and a septet with strings and winds.
Shawna Yang – saxophone and flute.
MMM has collaborated with this fantastic musician and composer for many years, both in Taiwan and Sweden. She graduated from Berklee and recorded her solo album Simple Life in New York, an album that won the Best Instrumental Album award at the Golden Melody Award in Taiwan.
Shen Yu Su – tenor saxophone
One of Taipei’s most sought-after jazz musicians, with a unique sound and expression. He has collaborated internationally with the Italian-Taiwanese project Mission Fomosa.
Jiro Yeh – cello
Yes, here he plays the cello, but Jiro is also both a bassist and a drummer. His musical journey began at the age of 18 when he became interested in music from Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, but later landed in jazz during his college years.
Tichi Yeh – violin
A passionate musician who began her classical education at a very young age and later studied further in Paris. Now she moves smoothly between different genres, combining her classical skills with improvisation in her own unique way.
