French Baroque music with the ensemble Les Jardiniers, consisting of musicians from the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra as well as harpsichordist Adrienn Illes, transverse flutist Georgia Williams and soprano Ingrid Berg.
The music performed is written by Élisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, 1665-1729, the uncrowned queen of the Baroque, a musical prodigy and one of the first women to write sonatas, cantatas and an opera. In addition, music is provided by Julie Pinel, Robert de Visée, Marin Marais and François Couperin. The concert is performed entirely acoustically with period instruments.
