Att uppleva The Necks live är som att träda in i en levande organism, en hypnotisk, mystisk upplevelse. Musiken tar form i små nästan ohörbara rörelser, bygger upp lager på lager som böljar sig fram till en punkt där tid och rum upplöses. The Necks har givit ut 18 album och blivit något av ett kultband som fusionerar experimenterande jazz med minimalism, drone, avantgarde, ambient och krautrock. De har fått kritiker att jämföra dem med grupper som Faust, Can och Philp Glass.
